Are you ready to step into the fascinating world of upholstery? Learn the fundamental techniques and skills necessary to reupholster a simple dining room chair of your choosing.
With upholstered projects, it all starts with the foundation. The hands-on experience of taking a chair from the frame to the finishing fabric and trim will introduce students to the knowledge and techniques needed to tackle a wide range of upholstery projects with confidence.
This class is suitable for beginners with little to no upholstery experience, as well as those looking to refresh their skills.
Each student must supply their chair, which must be approved by the instructor for this beginner’s class.
Students are encouraged to bring 1-2 yards of decorative, upholstery-weight cover fabric to complete their chairs.
Students will:
- Gain hands-on experience with upholstery tools and materials
- Learn to measure a project for materials and fabric
- Understand the foundation of an upholstered seat
- Sew a fabric-covered welt cord if needed.
