Learn to quilt and/or add to your repertoire of quilting techniques
This multi-session class, taught by Christy Sass, will teach design and new techniques every week. Each session features a lecture with demonstrations covering half-square and quarter-square triangles (efficiently), curves, paper piecing, appliqué, free motion quilting, and binding. Students will sew at home and return to the next class to share their finished blocks. Ultimately, you will have a finished quilt, or perhaps a few table runners. Perfect for Christmas gifts!
Please note:
- The first session on 9/10 will be longer, a maximum of 2 hours, allowing us to cover the basics of cutting and complete the first assignment.
- Students will need a sewing machine, fabrics, a cutter, and a mat.
- Avoid buying materials until after the first class.
**Classes take place on Wednesdays, 10 am - 11 am, on the following dates: September 10, 24, October 1, 8, 22, 29, and November 5. **
You may have seen instructor Christy Sass' beautiful exhibit of quilts at the Gardner Center in 2022. Chris owned a quilt store for 16 years and taught hundreds of sewers how to quilt. She retired to Miller Beach and is ready to teach again. If you have sewn clothes, this class is a piece of cake.
